The painter and graphic artist Reinhard Stangl (1950, Leipzig) lives and works in Berlin and Brazil. Works by the artist are in various renowned collections, such as the collection of the German Bundestag or the Berlinische Galerie.
Stangl studied at the Dresden University of Fine Arts in the 1970s. He later held visiting professorships himself, including at the Hochschule der Bildende Künste Berlin and the Hochschule für Gestaltung Hamburg.
Many of the artist's works refer to the urbanity of the metropolis or to an opposite, to nature and landscape. If some works seem dense and rich in overlapping impressions, the others seem hung calm, almost contemplative.
