Peter Doig
Peter Doig (1959) is a shooting star in the international art scene, among the most important contemporary artists in the world. In 2007, the sensational auction of his painting “White Canoo” made him Europe’s most expensive living painter at the time. Doig’s works, most of them landscapes, give the impression of being carried away in a dream. With this at times romantic streak, the artist rejects fads and goes his own way. Since the 1980s he has been honored with a great many prizes and individual exhibitions, including at London’s Tate Britain and Cologne’s Museum Ludwig.
