Norbert Kricke (*1922, Düsseldorf - 1984, ibid.) was not only a German sculptor, but also a professor at the Düsseldorf Art Academy. In 1970 he was awarded the Bundesveriednstkreuz am Bande.
Abstract aesthetics and minimalist lines are what define Norbert Kricke's works. Filigree and elegant, his sculptures entwine through space. In his paintings, these lines have a completely different effect. They give the viewer a sense of three-dimensionality and suggest a much larger space - the picture seems to show only a section of it.
