The sought-after editions of the Canadian artist living in NYC.
Marcel Dzama (1974) has been one of the most important representatives of contemporary art in Canada and the USA since the 1990s. He is a visual artist and filmmaker who has created a distinct visual language informed by fairy tales, Dadaism and Surrealism.
Dzama draws inspiration from vernacular colloquialism, surrealist film, Dada scurrility, and Soviet agitprop to create lush, dreamlike works. His otherworldly characters and settings sometimes reference religious iconography and fairy tales.
We also encounter human figures, animals, and imaginary hybrids in his coveted editions, which always sell out quickly. Dzama creates unique worlds that are at once surreal and familiar, sweet and brutal, chaotic and elegant.
