Christo was an exceptional artist. To this day he remains the most well-known exponent of “land art” – art situated in landscape and open spaces. Christo planned all of his projects together with his wife, Jeanne-Claude, and from 1961 the pair produced all sorts of spectacular projects in extraordinary dimensions. As a tribute to Jeanne-Claude, Christo continued their shared work and projects already started long after his wife's death. In many cases their projects lasted only a few brief weeks, but for those who were able to visit them they remain a lasting memory.

What remains and can be collected are Christo's pictures and collages from the process of planning his projects. Unlike the projects themselves, these artworks are not collaborative works by Christo and Jeanne-Claude, but were produced by Christo alone and bear his signature.

Christo created unmistakable art that made him world-famous. The influential 'Kunstkompass' ranked him among the world's top 100 most important artists up until his death in 2020.
