The work Ouroboros (No. 8) comes from the monumental edition Ouroboros - Im Kreis Gehen from 2018; there are only a few copies of this coveted edition left.

The material Günther Uecker works with here is extraordinary: It is a terragraphy, that is, a work on which real sand has been applied. The resulting haptic, grainy materiality of the black paint is fascinating! Rare for editions Ueckers is also the carrier of the work, because it is a canvas, stretched on stretcher frame - this emphasizes the painting character of the work.

The theme of the work Ouroboros - Going in circles is circling, meditative circling, circling life, etc.. Again and again Günther Uecker has dealt with this in his work and has chosen the circular form as a symbol for it.
