Photographs of flowers are a focal point of Gerhard Treichel's artistic work. Sometimes Treichel concentrates on one detail of a flower, sometimes he composes lush arrangements. The flowers are often removed from their context and placed horizontally in front of a white background. As there is no distracting background, the flowers appear even more present and their shapes and colors stand out concisely. In Treichel's photographs, the flowers appear graceful and removed from time and space.
