About Flossi Klein I, Perlweiss

About Rosalie

rosalie (* 1954, Gemmrigheim; † 2017, Stuttgart) studied German language and literature and art history at the University of Stuttgart; painting, graphics, sculpture and stage and costume design with Prof Jürgen Rose at the Stuttgart State Academy of Art and Design. Her theatre and stage design projects for opera, ballet, drama and film have attracted a great deal of attention. Essential to her work were specific productions with contemporary music that opened up completely new forms of interplay between light, colour and rhythm from the perspective of experimental spaces. From 2006, light art in particular became a central theme within the multifaceted oeuvre of the Stuttgart-based artist, and her large-scale kinetic light sculptures were received with great interest by the public and the media. Contemporary materials, technologies of the greatest complexity and digital media formed the basis from which rosalie created "new universes of light" (quote from Peter Weibel): light art works of enormous colourfulness and emotionality. Important works in recent years include the kinetic light installations HELIOS (2007-2009), Séraphin (2007), HYPERION_Fragment (2008-2009) and CHROMA_LUX,...
