About The Floating Piers, Lake Iseo Italy, 2017

Christos Projekt im norditalienischen Iseo-See sorgte 2016 für Aufsehen: »The Floating Piers«, die schwimmenden Stege, die sich über 3 Kilometer hinweg durch den See zogen. Über eine Million Besucher haben die Installation gesehen. Nicht nur die Ausmaße der Installation und die Einbindung in die atemberaubende Landschaft des Sees waren spektakulär. Die Installation war eine einmalige Erfahrung für jeden, der sich auf ihr bewegte. Ein besonderes körperliches Gefühl entstand, da die schwimmenden Stege im Rhythmus des Wassers, des Wellengangs, leicht schwankten und wippten.
Christos Kunstwerke zum Projekt »The Floating Piers« sind absolut rar. Bei dem Werk handelt es sich um eine Collage aus Fotografie und Stoff. Die Fotografie gibt prägnant in gradliniger Struktur einen Abschnitt der Installation wieder; ergänzt wird das Werk durch ein Stück des leuchtenden orangenen Originalstoffs. Die Edition ist limitiert auf 100 Exemplare!
