About Stefan Szczesny
Stefan Szczesny (1951) has enjoyed international recognition since the 1980s, when he first reached global fame as a painter and sculptor and one of the protagonists of the “ Neue Wilde ” movement. At the beginning of his career as an artist Szczesny tended towards abstract art under his teacher Günther Fruhtrunk. Through grants at the prestigious Villa Romana and Villa Massimo academies in Florence and Rome, respectively, Szczesny went on to developed a figurative painting style that is vigorously colorful and impulsive. “For me art has a function of improving people’s sense of life, opening up perspectives, and making them happy, simply capturing happiness.” – Stefan Szczesny Szczesny lives in Saint Tropez and his art is positive and life-affirming, something tellingly reflected in the artist’s choice of summer themes. His unmistakable style has made him famous as well as the fact that Szczesny is an incredibly versatile artist—he has even designed materials for an escada collection. ► We provide you with a large selection of artworks by Szczesny. Alongside his distinctive steel sculptures we recommend his impressive large formats, including “ Nude with Palms on Green Stripes ” for example.
