About Katharina Grosse

Katharina Grosse (1961) is considered one of the most important female artists in the world. As a female protagonist she has made it all the way to the male-dominated summit of the art world. Grosse lives and works in Berlin. She studied under  Gotthard Graubner  and  Norbert Tadeusz , and also held a professorship for painting at the prestigious Kunstakademie Düsseldorf. Grosse’s innovative art attracts attention and recognition from around the world, something that can be seen in the countless exhibitions at prestigious institutions and her participation in the most renowned biennials including the Venice Biennale. She has also been distinguished with a great many art prizes.
