Yijie Gong

Vita and exhibitions of the artist Yijie Gong (*1988, Hohhot, China) lives and works in Düsseldorf. She first studied art at Tianjin University from 2007-11 and then at the Düsseldorf Art Academy from 2012. She graduated in 2019 as a master student (diploma with honours) of Prof. Andreas Schulze. Since then, Yijie Gong's work has been continuously presented in solo and group exhibitions, including at BoNian Space in Beijing, Löwenpalais in Berlin, Cubus Kunsthalle in Duisburg, Kunstraum Villa Friede in Bonn and K21/ Kunstsammlung Nordrhein-Westfalen in Düsseldorf. The artist's presence in renowned exhibition halls and museums demonstrates her growing reputation and success in the art world. Yijie Gong's ‘Colour Landscapes’ Yijie Gong creates her very own visual language with her works. Many of her paintings refer to landscape experiences, and Gong sees her works accordingly as ‘colour landscapes’. The artist ‘builds up’ her colour landscapes in numerous layers, as she describes them herself. In her paintings, Yijie Gong works with oil paint on canvas.
